Ville, the creator of Driftmoon, in case you didn't know, is selling the game. I'm pretty sure that he's not trying to raise money.

As far as I know, it's only for businesses in the US. I wonder if that's still true?

Yes, you need to be from the US: http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/creators#EligRequ

There are other platforms, http://www.indiegogo.com/ for example, for projects outside of the US. They're somewhat less well adopted but it's definitely an option.

Then again, many people already sort of backed the project via pre-orders, so I'm not sure there's more money in a kickstarter-like campaign.

And of course, Driftmoon is very nearly finished now. But I'll keep those new options in mind for any new games we make.
