I'm not sure why I didn't ask earlier, but... Anyone interested in a game of Neptune's Pride?
I will quote from two reviews:
"Craig Lager" said: Do you have friends? Because after playing Neptune’s with them you wont be able to look them in the eye again, ever. You can’t trust them post-Pride - a vale of deceit and minor hatred will come between you, borne out of paranoia and mis-trust, not to mention backstabbing and all out warfare. Neptune’s Pride lets you find out what your friends are really capable of. Neptune’s brings out the very worst in people, bubbling underhand tactics and outright lies to the surface. "Jim Rossignol" said: What’s best about Neptune’s Pride, I suspect, is that it keeps things simple. It facilitates the natural urges of players to ally, doublecross, or otherwise politic their way through what is a social situation. Your empire probably isn’t going to survive without other people. Space bound imperialism is a social animal. As in life, so in Neptune’s Pride. Play with friends for the most chilling results. I haven't tried it myself, but I encountered it today and I thought, what the hell, I want to try this.
It's browser-based, it seems to be free, it might or might not be still in beta, and I have high hopes for it. Anyone up for a game here? Also I hope it's better than Corona Celestia where nothing happens AT ALL.
[edit]seems that there are open free games and closed paid games with some more options. The system seems pretty okay, if the free thing fails and there's sufficient real interest I'm willing to pay so that we have our private game.
