Hello! You guys/gals/bots know very well that I am not very active around here, but I have been watching Driftmoon since I got internet back and I have a few things to say... Mainly it is purely based on screenshots and the previews...
Some thoughts: Notrium was a nice game, but after a few hours (or days) you completed it, and while the graphics were surely nice (and the possible endings quite original, as well), it did not last for long.
Here it came to me: Well, it says it can be modded. Why can not I make my own mod, after all, I could do it! < I was GNORW... No really, I was really WRONG about it. Modding was by no means easy, and even a simply object could take lots of file editing, and if you did not make back-ups, you lost all your progress. Even the Notrium Mod Viewer did not help it much; had it come earlier, phearps, but now with Driftmoon and everything I think it is a bit... 'Late'. (no offence intended, I really think Dorten did an awesome job, but really, how ACTIVE modders are out there? I think I can count them with my fingers...) That aside, another problem were the places I wanted to make. No matter how hard I tried, I could never get my Volcano to look like a volcano by any means of the word. Yes, I could make a 'hot place' - but that was not enought for me.
It is much what I said here, and I do mean it. You may differ, but I say that I will wait and try modding and playing Driftmoon. To me it seems the game is going to have many more fans, and hopefully, many more mods too. Even the default game itself looks very promising, and I all I can say si that I can not wait for 1.0v to be released... Well, that is pretty much of it.
Regards, DRL.
P.S.: I am not going to be very active around here for now, but, I will definelty keep track of the Blog. Wish you good luck, Monkkonen family!
