ok, So heres what I have so far:

    bananas grow in bunches.

What is a word but a collection of? = Characters.

So the name has something to do with a bunch of characters. But I still don't see how the ships name ties into that at all.

Do you have to re-arange the letters to have it make sense?

    That's ouch indeed.

I don't think anyone ever found a hint linking the banana's with the Var'Equinallin properly, as they're a bit vague. It's a big gap you have to traverse, but keep thinking, and you'll figure it out

    Same there.
Exept, i found, that if you tell it fast enough, it reminds something about War and alien queens...

In light of that statement, I shall pass down another hint:

Even if you know how to interpret all the hints, to solve the puzzle, you need to puzzle.

After reading the whole thread, I only have a few vague ideas.
I've never been good at riddles - and when you take all the "hints" into account, it doesn't make sense.
So what I think you have to do is ignore the cryptic clues.

I think I got it... Seems kinda... stupid?

The answer is right under your nose

-Your mouth is under your nose.... Duh?

    What you do with bananas

    -Uhh.... you peel them?

What you do with bananas, but nothing to do with bananas

    -Uhh.... you eat them?

    Ah hah!

    My conclusion:

    IT MEANS MOUTH!!!!

    RAWR!!!!

    lolwut ZP reference.

Well, allow me to do my own interpretation here...

The answer is right under your nose...
That depends on the meaning of "right under" and the nose. What about a space ship's nose? Unless it's really supposed to be our own nose, which in that case is either the lip, mouth, keyboard, whatev...
The sentence could also be metaphorical, which in that case, I'd exclude anything I typed before.

What I do with bananas? I'd trash them, but that's not the point, is it?

What is a word but a collection of ? Letters, sounds, syllabus... I say they're values!

To the name in hand... "Var' Equinallin"...
Var' reminds me of Variable and Equinallin reminds me of Equal to. Programming much? Verily.

Other lame conclusions... if a variable is equal to something, then... wait, let me try again. The variable has a banana assigned to it. Or is the banana a variable? What about both! I say the variable banana is equal to a banana, and since a word is a variable type, I conclude Notrium's ship was equal to a collection of ships!
    ...or bananas...

Use your head, not google define.

And in case your head fails, use a blender.

how the hell do you connect the israeli settlement (argaman) and bannanas?

Don't seek the definition of argaman, seek the MEANING of argaman.

By sticking it into a blender.

i know what you meant the first time you mentioned that israeli settlement, after all, i know what the name means, and the blender thing, it's just scarely accurate to what most people should be, but are not in their riddling way riddling about so this riddle could be riddled into something more complicated than it is because people think of bannanas and how tasty they are.

all in all, i just want to puzzle those who haven't finished this yet

    Ian2454 15 years ago
It sucks that I didn't get to find out about and play notrium until I was (and still am) 16.

*Ahem* So. This is the current goal of my life. I am to figure out this [Censored] puzzle, and am currently juggling these clues.
It is right in front of you. (No kidding! It really is, isn't it... That's an obvious one, though it's slightly vague.)
Has something to do with banana's. (I think I get this one, see comment about grapes)
What is a word but a collection of ______? (I choose to use a certain word)
The meaning of an argaman... It's a word almost, if not directly, related to wine. I don't think Var' Equinallin has anything to do with Israel except for that settlement, no importance. Don't take that as a hint either. I'm in no position as I've not figured it out yet. (grapes makes better sense than banana's methinks) And if you make a vague and abstract connection, you can connect grapes to the shape of the ship. (That's not a hint either, just a comment)
I remember almost all the text from Default and at least half of Werivar. To cross-reference the two give me a set of texts that I have a good idea from.
So Var' Equinallin means something like... Well, I'll PM someone first. God (Ville?), I know I'll feel like an idiot when I find out I am completely wrong... It's not a riddle, I'm sure of that. I don't think it's in another language either. Maybe a slight reference to horses but that's probably just a random interpretation. I have way too much free time... Can I have a list of people who know the answer? Depending on how close in wording I have to come, I'd like to take a guess.

This kinda feels like school all over again...
It took me exactly 12 minutes to come this far (and another 6 mins to write and revise this post.)
